When Kingsland School in Wakefield needed extra classroom accommodation quickly to meet a new term deadline and following selection through the authority’s competitive tender procedure, Lewis Ashley Group were awarded the contract and provided a full turn-key package for a totally refurbished modular building to cater for their needs. Our first job was to excavate and reduce the ground level, before supplying a full foundation of concrete pad’s, this was then followed by the installation of a 4 bay building 10m x 12m equalling 120m2 in total floor space complete with kitchen, paediatric toilets for boys and girls complete with cloakroom facilities plus a doc M pack Disable toilet facility. This included all power and data cabling, plumbing and electrics and air conditioning within a suspended ceiling system which allowed all the services to be run within the fabric of the building, the fitting of anti-slip vinyl flooring and carpeting was also included. External works included for all ramps and pathways around the building. All work was carried out during the summer holiday period and ready for occupation on time, on budget and ready when the new term began.
